Thomas Stevens

Director, Regulatory Affairs
CenterPoint Energy

Thomas D. (Tom) Stevens is Director of Regulatory Affairs for CenterPoint Energy. His primary responsibilities involve managing regulatory matters for CenterPoint Energy’s gas distribution utilities in Texas. Tom started with CenterPoint Energy in 2010 in a financial planning and reporting role before transitioning to regulatory affairs in 2011 where he was responsible for regulatory matters involving CenterPoint Energy’s gas distribution utilities in Arkansas and Oklahoma. In 2015 Tom was promoted to his current position and relocated from Little Rock to Houston.

Prior to joining CenterPoint Energy, Tom worked for the Arkansas Public Service Commission’s General Staff where he primarily worked on issues of cost allocation and rate design. Before his work in the utility industry, Tom worked in higher education as a college instructor at Southwest Baptist University in Missouri and LCC International University in Lithuania where he taught a variety of business courses. Tom has also served as an adjunct instructor at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Tom has a Bachelor of Science degree from Southwest Baptist University and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University, as well as a Masters Degree in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary.

Tom and his wife, Ashley, live in Houston and have three young children.
