FRI is pleased to welcome Dr. Zenon Christodoulou, Commissioner with the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU), to its Advisory Board. Commissioner Christodoulou was appointed to the NJBPU in August 2022. Prior to joining the Board, Dr. Christodoulou had a long and distinguished career in business and academia. He has been a management consultant in various industries and has owned successful businesses in print manufacturing, graphic design, the restaurant industry, and the media sector. Additionally, he has taught as an adjunct professor at William Paterson University educating undergraduate and graduate business students in areas as diverse as organizational behavior, innovation, economics, and strategy development.
Commissioner Christodoulou represents New Jersey as the Secretary of OPSI (Organization off PJM States); serves as Vice Chair of NARUC’s Committee on Consumers and the Public Interest. He also serves on NARUC’s Electricity, International, EV Working Group, and Nuclear Waste Committees, while also serving on the Cyber Security Tiger Team and as an Ambassador for new commissioners. Additionally, he sits on the Advisory Committee of New Mexico State University’s Center for Public Utilities, and on the Executive Committee of the National Council on Electricity Policy and GTI Energy’s Public Interest Advisory Committee. Commissioner Christodoulou also serves as honorary chair of on the National Utility Diversity Council.
Commissioner Christodoulou earned his doctoral degree from the Pace University Lubin School of Business in Organizational Behavior, his MBA from Fordham University in International Finance and Management, and his BA from Rutgers College in Economics and Philosophy. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board at Raritan Valley Community College, the top ranked community college in the State of NJ.
Commissioner Christodoulou replaces on the FRI Advisory Board Commissioner Emeritus Mary-Anna Holden, who represented the NJBPU on our Board from 2014 to 2024.
